Adding a flash to a file I send to someone else.

I have a PowerPoint 2002 presentation that includes a flash animation. If I
send the ppt file to someone and they have the same .swf file in the same
directory I keep it in, they can see the animation when they run the slide
show. What do I need to do to get the flash to run on PCs that don't have
the .swf file? I want to sent this out to hundreds of people in the company.

Suzie,
The Flash activex control has a property which decides whether the movie is
embedded or linked. Choose to embed the movie and the SWF will be stored
within and travel with your presentation. All you need now is to ensure that
the target users have PowerPoint on their systems and flash player
installed.

[CRITICAL UPDATE - Anyone using Office 2003 should install the critical
update as soon as possible. From PowerPoint, choose "Help -> Check for
Updates".]

Suzie,

To further clarify, since there are many flavors of Shockwave controls
available (I have 3 different ones on one of my computers), the specific
variation which contains the option to embed the flash movie contents
(instead of link) should appear in your list of controls as:

Shockwave Flash Object

Other Shockwave controls (such as "Shockwave ActiveX Control") do not
include this option/property.

If you (or anyone else reading this message) think that it is important to
have improved support for Shockwave Flash in PowerPoint, don't forget to
send your feedback (in YOUR OWN WORDS) to Microsoft at:

http://register.microsoft.com/mswish/suggestion.asp

As with all product suggestions, it's important that you not just state
your wish but also WHY it is important to you that your product suggestion
be implemented by Microsoft. Microsoft receives thousands of product
suggestions every day and we read each one but, in any given product
development cycle, there are only sufficient resources to address the ones
that are most important to our customers so take the extra time to state
your case as clearly and completely as possible.

IMPORTANT: Each submission should be a single suggestion (not a list of
suggestions)
