Is there a way to embed a powerpoint presentation into Flash?

I have a powerpoint presentation that I need to put into flash. I want to
post the swf online so that the presentation can be viewed without
downloading. Can I embed the presentation into flash? I have tried different
programs that are supposed to publish .ppt as .swf but have been
unsuccessful. Someone please help.

I use Camtasia Studio, http://www.techsmith.com, to record the presentation
as a video, edit it, and then produce it as a Flash file (both with Camtasia
Studio, too).

I have tried it! lol. I can not seem to get it all to work right. My ppt has
217 slides with animation and voive. it also has an action where the user
needs to be able to press the space bar to advance to the next slide. Is
there any way I can get someone to do this for me?At this point I have tried
ppttoflash pro, articulate, authorpoint, and camtasia. I really need this
done. please help!

If your presentation is so long, you might reach the limits of the SWF Flash
format. Have you tried FLV? It is usually better for longer videos.
(Camtasia can produce both SWF and FLV.)

Thanks! I got real close last night using ppt2flash. Almost made it but came
up with an error about reading some dll file. I'm gonna keep at it I suppose.
Still have a few more days before deadline. Camtasia was a complete disaster
when I tried it.

I can sympathise with your frustration! Here are a few suggestions:

- 217 slides is HUGE. I have converted 25-slide, narrated PPTs into FLV
using Camtasia 4 and the results are excellent, but the file is around
8MBytes (that after optimising - the first file was 80MBytes ). I'm
sure you've considered this, but is there any possible way you can divide up
this presentation?

- There are several Powerpoint to Flash converters on the market. They all
have their pros and cons. I can give you feedback on two:

- Articulate Presenter is OK. Expensive though, and really does
want to build the whole HTML page for you.

- PowerConverter from www.presentationpro.com is also OK. Probably
better suited for your needs. And most importantly you can download a free
trial version to see if it works for your presentation. I can confirm that
buttons still work to perform slide to slide navigation in PowerConverter.
However, if you have a problem with the package, you can forget any kind of
support or advice. I sent a number of bug reports with no reply. I also
offered a number of sampel presentations that I was rather proud of for
their gallery and also had no reply. Although it's the best converter I've
seen so far (in that it preserves the widest set of Powerpoint features),
I'm not totally convinced of the company's long term committment to the
product. The forums on their site were also deserted when I was using it
(note I use exclusively Camtasia these days). Also, I can't even imagine
how long it would take to convert a 217 slide presentation. It might be too
large for the converter.

site was was done by someone else. I just have to find out what they used. I
have come real close to getting it done with ppt2flash. I come up with either
not enough memory or an error reading a dll file. I'm going to try it on a
better machine and see if that helps. ppt2flash responded very quickly when I
sent them a ticket asking about the errors. Camtasia. lets not talk about
that. I didnt get anywhere with that. my ppt has animated gifs on every page
and it wont keep the animations for me.

I see Camtasia has just announced a new version. It might be worth checking to
see if they've addressed the issues that are stopping you here.
