Add startup scripts automatically w/o AD

Hello,

I want to add a startup script on several hundred computers on our
site. We don't use AD but . Users have administrative privileges and I
can run any program during logon.

Is there any way to add a startup script to the computer without user
intervention?

All computers are Windows 2000 professional SP4 logging on to a Novell
NDS server.

Thanks in advance,

If you're using NDS, you should be able to 'assign' a login script to your
users... either that, or use ZenWorks to put out a package that'll put your
script in a startup folder.... or add reg keys, etc.

Good luck

Kan,

Thank you for your reply.
I would like to add a script to the Computer startup scripts so this
script runs before user logon. Adding script to startup folders or
registry keys won't run that script before logon as far as I know.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks,
Ruud

I have to admit that it's been about 3 years since I've touched Novell...
I've forgotten most of the screens and interfaces with it. I would suggest
you might get better results if you ask on a Novell type board.

Sorry I can't help you further ;(

I too am looking for a way to do this for Shutdown
Scripts... I haven't had a lot of success so far but I'll
let you know if I do...

Do you have access to ZENWorks?? If so then you should be
able to use Workstation Policy Package together with
Workstation Manager to shedule the script execution at
startup...

Cheers,

Timshel
