Add or Remove Programs

For some odd reason, my "Add or Remove Programs" window lists only a small fraction of the programs that are on my computer when I choose "sort by name?

If I sort by "frequency of use," far more programs are revealed than if sorted by "name," but it still is not a complete list. It doesn't make any sense. If I sort by "size" only two programs are displayed

Any suggestions as to what I may be doing wrong.
