I uninstalled it and picked up another copy on downloads.com, updated it
fine.
I am running ZA free on that one and right now i am in the middle of doing a
full scan, so far so good but i am still not going to put it on my good
machines for at least a month till Lavasoft gets the kinks out. I want to
test it on test machine for a month anyway and see if it has any new
problems.

I had uninstalled the 2007 version as well. AFAICT, the download is still
the original version and has the same byte count. I'm left wondering if a
re-install is required to get yesterday's updates.
huh?

that website you gave is for ad aware SE not adaware 2007
I uninstalled the old version then installed the new and was having these
problems.

My bad. That was a reply from Calamity Jane and I didn't notice that the
original poster specified SE.

HowSomeEver, I just ran Ad-Aware 2007 and received new versions of the
service, the scanner and the GUI. It seems they are working the problems and
putting out fixes.

One thing I don't like about the 2007 version is there is no indication
there is an automatic update in progress when it loads. I think that has
caused some problems if you were to try to update manually while the
automatic update was not complete. I think they fixed that problem, but
there still is no indication that the first update is in progress.

Click Settings | Auto Scans and disable everything.

I will give it a try again in a few months once they put up a newer version
on their website and more of the kinks are out

i fixed the problem on the test computer
I went back into Windows Firewall and found in expceptions IE is gone off
the list.
I will have to wait and see if it causes any problems by fixing
that computer is NOT on my network because i solely use it for testing
purposes and do not want it exposed to the network for that reason
