ActiveSync and VS 2005?

I'm having a problem in Visual Studio 2005 under Vista. I have a WM2003
device that seems to work just fine with the Mobile device center feature
that is supposed to replace ActiveSync. By all indications, there doesn't
seem to be anything wrong with that in and of itself. However, when I
attempt to deploy or debug my program in VS2005, it says "ActiveSync is not
installed" - Is this a known issue, and should I just wait for the fix? Or,
is there some kind of workaround?

I bugged this - I did notice it doesn't seem to bother Windows Mobile 5
devices... that seems to run without problem in Vista. I guess it must be a
known bug?

Interesting - sounds like an ingeniously crafted WM5 upsell to me :)

Thanks for the info. I think my workaround is to just not debug and use
manual copying to the device after a build is complete... not ideal but I'm
sure MS will fix it. I also tried the remote tools and they too can't
connect to the device.
