Access: Please wait while Setup prepares the neccessary files

Hi.

I created a form in MS Access 2007 Enterprise Edition. I added a chart
to it with a query as a record source. Everytime when I open the form,
the wizard starts, saying "Please wait while Setup prepares the
neccessary files" and soon the message "Configuring Microsoft Access
Enterprise..." follows.

It is annoying to see this everytime I try to use the form. Is there
any particular reason for such a behaviour of the Access?

Regards,
Vedran.

Hi Vedran,

I suspect that some registry setting is not being written if you open the
database as a normal user. By chance are you using the Vista operating
system? If so, try right-clicking the Access icon, and select Run as
Administrator (I think that's what the shortcut menu reads, but I'm not
running Vista at the moment). Anyway, after starting Access as an
administrator, do whatever operation you are currently doing that produces
the setup message. Then exit Access and come back in as a normal user. Do you
still receive the prompt after this?

Hi, Tom.

No, I am not using the Vista OS. It is running on WinXP SP2 and I am
administrator on my machine, as well.

It seems that it has something to do with the adding chart on the form
action. I noticed that after I create blank form in design view,
select data source (table, query,...), select fields that should be
included and select chart type, the procedure of configuration of MS
Access starts.

I will try to repair the installation of MS Office.

Regards,
Vedran.

Hi.

Reinstalling the MS Office solved the problem. It works fine now. It
seems that the first installation did not put things on their place as
it should...

Regards,
Vedran.
