I am running Windows XP Professional on a labtop. When I
want to access the directory C:\Documents and Settings\All
Users\Documents" I get the error message "Access is
denied.". The computer does not belong to a workgroup. It
connects to the Internet through dial-up or wireless LAN.

Thanks for the help.

XP PRO: In Windows Explorer, go to Tools, Folder Options, View and uncheck Use Simple File Sharing. Now, when you right click on a drive, folder or file (on an NTFS partition) and select Properties, you'll see a Security tab. Here you can assign or deny permissions based on user name or user group membership.

Hi Claude,

It sounds like you do not have sufficient permissions to access this folder
and it's content.

Log on to this machine as the local administrator or with a user account
that is a member of the local administrators group and test accessing the
folder.
