Access denied-no Admin rights

I have a WinXp Home edition. I can not install any software. I looked in "My
Documents" folder under Properties and did not find the Security Tab. Under
"Safe Mode- I do see it. Tried in "Safe Mode" to install still not able
to-same message.

I tried to go to Trend Micro or Panda website and I get misdirected. I
know-Viruses and Spyware!..I have ran Avast and Arovax three times and seems
clean. I tried to install HiJack This but am not able to-no Admin Rights.

I was able to install Firefox web browser thinking I sure would be able to
go to the websites I needed but...same story- I was being misdirected to
other websites. Any thoughts or ideas?

Can I suggest that you run Spybot S&D.

The reason you cannot see the sercurity tab is that you've probably get
simple file sharing enabled.

Goto My Computer > Tools > Folder Options > View.

Scroll down to the bottom there will be an option "Use Simple File
Sharing" - Untick this box and the security tab should appear.

The only other reason why you would not have a security tab if that does not
resolve the issue is that you do not have permissions to that folder - that
is a different issue.

He said he's using XP Home -- which forces Simple File Sharing.
Goto My Computer > Tools > Folder Options > View.

The "Use Simple File Sharing" box is not available with XP Home.
XP Home will only have a Security Tab if you start up in Safe Mode.

========================================

Start computer in Safe Mode select Safe Mode with Network support.

Trying updating then running Spybot S & D again

Also if you are successful getting Internet access I recommend you download,
install, update and run Malwarebytes

Which is a very good trojan & worm scanner/remover
