access denied - help

I've got a computer that was virus ladden. It is clean now but will not
boot. I wish to do a reinstall of XP but cannot copy the main user's
documents folder. I get an access denied. How can I copy this data if I
cannot boot the system. BTW, I'm accessing the drive as a slave in my XP
home edition computer.

Any help?

You can try and take ownership of the files:

http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=308421 - HOW TO: Take Ownership of a
File or Folder in Windows XP [Q308421]

If that doesn't work, if your computer has two cd drives, one of which
is a burner, get Knoppix (www.knoppix.net) which is a Linux distro that
runs from cd. Boot the computer with Knoppix. Linux will see the files
and you can burn them to cd-r with the burning program k3b.

Take ownership of the files:
HOW TO: Take Ownership of a File or Folder in Windows XP
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=308421

Or go to Help & Support and type in ownership.
