A Simple Question...

that I have been unable to find a simple answer. [MSIE 6.0, Windows 2000
Pro.]

Right-click on a picture
Select Save Picture As

The Save Picture dialog always opens to the My Pictures folder. I do not use
the My Pictures folder, it is not applicable to my situation (They're not
"MY" pictures, and they need to be saved to a network location, not to my
local PC )

How do I change the default file location for saving pictures:so I don't
have to dink around and navigate to the location where I do want to save
them?

Thanks for your help.

I don't think you can do that. A fairly quick alternative might be to put
shortcuts to your actual picture folders in the \My Pictures folder. When
you go to save a pic, it will still point you to \My Pictures, but all
you'll have to do is double-click the shortcut folder where your pictures
are actually stored.

Change "My Pictures" to point to a different folder.

Start-Run-Regedit
Navigate down to
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell
Folders
Alter the data against "My Pictures" to the folder you want.

Do the same (if the value is there) in
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User
Shell Folders

Thanks Alan,

A colleague suggested to use Tweak UI. That did the trick. It must
accomplish the same thing as your Reg Edit.
