When I try to upgrade from 98 SE to 2000 pro I keep
getting the error
"The upgrade pack C:\Windows\AppPatch\migrate.dll failed
in QueryVersion with error code 998. Setup cannot process
this pack."
I click the OK button and the process continues for a
short time until I get an error along the lines off
"This program has performed an illegal action and will now
close"
And that is the end of my upgrade attempt.
I have found a couple of posts on forums across the
internet with exactly the same problem but now answers or
solutions.
If there is any one out there who knows what is going on
and how it can be fixed, please reply.
