9600 catalyst question

i have a all in wonder 9600 card on my computer i just built, and i'm having
a few problems. it tends to lock up from time to time. and it always locks
up when i try to watch a vidoe that i recorded with the player. and whenever
i do get it to play the sound acts like someone was playing with the knob
while it was recording. this is the first nice video card i have ever
purchased. and i like all the features. if i can just get all the bugs
worked out it would be even better. i was wondering if i need to update the
Catalyst, which i don't really know what that is, i'm asuming the drivers or
something? can anyone tell me what i need to do to maybee take care of some
of these problems???

What AGP setting are you running at i.e AGP 4X or 8X. A lot of MB's have
problems running at 8X - try reducing it to 4X .
