2K SERVER blue screen after opening NTBACKUP (after latest patches applied) ?

Hi,

Got 2K server as DC on domain. I recently installed all MS patches to date.
When loading NTBACKUP i get blue screen (of death) and a mem error before
machine reboots. Been using NTBACKUP for years with no problems at all.

Anyone else had a similar problem ?

Machine has been stable for 3-4 years until latest patches were applied -
seems to be perfectly stable until NTBACKUP is opened too. NT BACKUP
Schedules seem to be running ok as files are being updated to external
storage.

Nothing helpful in event log, just restart stuff.

I remember updating MS service packs/patches may also include MS drivers for
your hardware. If you are running HP/CPQ servers go to their website and
download the latest drivers for the server. Always reapply HP/CPQ drivers
especially after SP updates. NT Backup may try to active the backup tape
drive and is causing the blue screen.
