2 Versions of Windows 2000 Pro on Startup?

David

New 'puter, and installed W2K Pro. When going thru the
boot cycle, I'm brought to where I have to chose which
version of Windows 2000 I want to start. That means:
when I turn on the computer, I can't walk away and let it
boot. I have to make the choice, then it'll boot up. Any
ideas on removing? Thanks in advance...

Normally it should count down, as long as timeout in boot.ini is not set to
-1, but sometimes a faulty keyboard can create a problem, see this MS
Knowledge Base article:

http://support.microsoft.com/?id=194714

To access boot.ini, open a command prompt and change directory to C:\, then
type "attrib -r -h -s boot.ini". The file should now be visible. What is
the timeout set to?

Best regards

Possible, but not recommended. You could reduce the waiting time to 5
seconds or so, in order to have the options there when (not if) they are
needed.

Right click on my computer
goto Properties
click the advanced tab
and in there you can choose which OS you want to boot up
on and you can take the bootup option screen to 0 seconds
or 59 seconds or you can disable it so it just boots up on
win 2000

I hope this helps

Paul
