2 Problems with WD

I've been using WD since it was released, and there are 2 problems I have
(both on 2 seperate computers) which remain:

1) Even though I am an advanced member of SpyNet, neither of the computers
ever actually connects to it. Anytime WD asks me to take action on
something, it times out on connecting to spynet and says that it is not
available. I have no other internet related problems.

2) It is unable to remember certain applications. For example, it asks me
whether or not to allow the Adobe speed launcher every time the system
restarts. The software explorer lists many programs as not yet classified
but does not allow me to actually enable anything. The Remove and Disable
buttons function, but I cannot click on something which is not yet classified
and click enable as it is simply greyed out.

Do you have a software firewall in place, perhaps as a part of an antivirus
suite application?

Indeed I do! I had Norton, and replaced it recently with One Care Live... I
will try adding the WD entry manually, and hopefully that will allow it to
connect to SpyNet...

Any ideas for the lack of items in the Allow List, and it not remembering my
deicision on certain programs?

Thanks for the advice so far!

I haven't seen this issue with Windows Live OneCare (new name!)--so I'd
check that Norton is really and truly gone.

I still don't understand the allow list--or why those greyed out buttons you
cite.

As with many other things in WD the allow facility doesn't work ! They forgot
to install an always allow ! thus one has to allow every session ! the only
way round that for the moment is to go to Tools and add the file path in the
don't scan section.

My sense is that it is working as designed--it is the design that is unclear
to the users. I've only seen items found on scans able to be added to that
list, but others here have seen unknowns added on their systems. I think
the distinction may be between Real-time detections, and scanned detections.
I'm not sure it is possible to add to that list via a real-time detection.
