I realize you think it couldn't be, but it was as I stated it. Since then
I've tried a bunch of things to correct the problem and something must
have worked - partially. 1. Now I have a Contacts folder in Outlook Today
with a sub-folder called Mailing List.
2. Last week I created 4 Distribution Lists from Mailing List but they
are nowhere to be found in either folder.
3. If I open the Address Book folder in Outlook Today, nothing shows up -
it's blank.
4. If I click on the Address Book icon in the Outlook toolbar, a list of
names & email addresses appears and it is here that I find my 4
Distriubtion Lists. In the 'Show names from' section, it shows Contacts.
If I click on the down arrow, it shows Outlook Address Book and under
that it shows Contacts.
5. There's no Mailing List subfolder associated with this Contacts
folder.
Now, I'm so confused and I've tried so many things to get this working
that I can't remember everything. All I want is for my stuff to be in one
place where I can get to it. Please help me resolve this if you can. Many
thanks in advance,
Denise

Your description, if accurate, defies reality. If you have two or more
Contacts Folders listed under your Outlook Address Book, then that
dialog box could not be blank.
Re read what I posted. State your problem more clearly and post back
with a more accurate description of what you are seeing.

I tried that but when I got as far as Outlook Address Book, nothing
showed up - the list was blank. What now?
Remove the dud folder here:
Tools > E-mail accounts > View or change existing directories or
address books > Outlook Address Book > Change.

Win XP with Office XP, using Outlook for email. I seem to have 2
Contacts folders but only 1 shows up on the folder list. When I try
to open it, I get a message saying it cannot be displayed because the
folder could not be opened. Then the address book window opens and if
I click the down arrow next to "Contacts", a second Contacts folder
appears. If I click on that one, no problem, it opens and I can
access everything. If I try to delete the first Contacts folder, I
can't. But under the Folders list I see only 1 Contacts folder - the
one I can't open. Can anyone help?
