100% performance and about blank when i load up/close pages

Help please......

For the past two months my pc continually runs at virtually 100% performance
when i'm connected to the net. I've tried all the solutions suggested on here
and i'm at a loss at what to do now.
As well as the above whenever i load up pages they are either slow to load
or load up blank. This also tends to happen when i close a page down.

I'm running on XP with all the updates downloaded.

Can anyone offer any assistance.

What, specifically, does "runs at virtually 100% performance" mean?

What, specifically, is included in "all the solutions suggested on
here"? I'm asking so I won't waste your time by suggesting something
you've already tried.

The following is frequently posted here so it may not be of any help but
I'll post it anyway...

When all else fails, HijackThis v1.99.1
(http://aumha.org/downloads/hijackthis.zip) is the preferred tool to use.
It will help you to both identify and remove any hijackware/spyware. **Post

If the procedures look too complex - and there is no shame in admitting this
isn't your cup of tea - take the machine to a local, reputable and
independent (i.e., not BigBoxStoreUSA) computer repair shop.

When i open the Task manager the CPU Usage History continually runs at 100%
and when it does i see to have the about blank problem.

I've tried running adaware, xoftspy etc as well as regsvr32 urlmon.dll but
it hasn't solved any of the problems. I even ran hijack this but to no avail.

Thanks

I have about 7 svchost.exe processess as well as 2/3 iexplore.exe processes
running at any one time

It's normal to have several hosting (svchost.exe) processes, but not
normal to have more than one Internet Explorer (iexplore.exe) process.
This is most likely caused by the presence on your computer of viruses
or other forms of malware.

Thanks for that. For info i've run the hijack this program and posted the
results on their forum.

Is there anything else i can do to prevent this from happening

You can exercise a great deal of caution while you are using the
internet. This is your first line of defense against malware.
