For now reason, the following EXCEL.EXE Application Error message box appears:

The instruction at "0x30611cd" referenced memory at "0x00407972". The memory
could not be "read".

Any idea what this is and how to fix it? Thank you kindly.

hi,
memeory is devided up by the OS in a number of ways.
when you loaded excel into memory, all of the code was put
into places in memory. these places are given address sort
of like excel addresses only on a much grander scale.
your error message is telling me me that a some
instruction at memory adress 0x30611cd could not read
something at memory address 0x00407972.
this may be some sort of corruption.
if you only got the error once, i wouldn't worry too much.
it may have been a one time glitch thing. it happens.
but if you are getting the error alot or constantly, i
would concider re-install excel.
if that doesn't fix it, one or more of your dimms may be
going bad.

regards
Frank

I am having the same type of errors on several of our spreadsheets. We have
several macros in our spreadsheets and didn't know if that was part of the
problem. Were you able to resolve your memory error with the re-install? If
not, how did you resolve your problem.
