I'm wondering about the new ZoneAlarm 5.1.011. Is it as bad as 5.0.590.015?
Anyone other than ZA labs test it yet. what do any of you reccomend
especially to some of us with subscriptions until 2005!

Hi IWB - I've had no problems with it, and it does fix the chkdsk/defrag
problem that existed with 5.0.590.015.

I installed or updated to ZA 5.1 and everything looked fine for a day or two
then weird things started to happen that I did not like. It seemed like
each day it go worse and worse so I uninstalled 5.1 and reinstalled 4.5
again and now ZA is working great as always.

New version of ZA - latest available - works like a charm even with XPSP2
firewall set on. Never a problem with them.

With SP2 firewall off, ZAP 5.0.590.043 and SP2 play well together.

No problem really but MS might object to crossposting which I noticed you
do, hence any answers are automatically posted to all groups too. It just
causes clutter that's all.

I replied to YOUR post thus the crossposting from me. So, your reply
elicited my crosspost.

Your original post (if you clicked reply on it) would show multiple
newsgroup addresses were used, therefore any reply would automatically cross
post too. I don't cross post myself, but if you want to then go ahead.
To me it's a waste of time and resources as these groups are busy enough.

Except that you replied to all the NGs also, which means you have them in your lists. Why not use the "Followup-To:" header ???" insert? Crossposting to 3 relevant groups is acceptable.

I give up. I don't see a "follow up to" option in OE anyway. Clicking
reply to group automatically replies to whatever group the original poster
used.

You did actually crosspost thus my crosspost when I replied to your
crosspost.

Wrong. You can manually take out the newsgroups it goes to in OE.

I'm getting cross eyed with all this crossed wires about cross posting... I
know and agree with what you are saying. ENOUGH LOL

A little research on the top toolbar reveals all :
"View" > "All Headers"
Follow Up set to: microsoft.public.windowsxp.basics
(looks like follow ups can only be set to "subscribed NGs ?)
