ZoneAlarm ver 5.0.590.015 (latest)

Suggest you think hard before you install this. There are many reports about
problems. I have had 3-4 myself and have gone back to ver 4.5.594.000.

1. Doesn't remember which tab you were in when you Xed out of the window.
2. Downloading becomes iffy! Seems to interfere with the Microsoft download
window.
3. Can't get the latest NAV updates from their web site because of #2
4. Doesn't recognize some of the AntiVirus programs (sort of like XP-SP2)

I also had problems with Zone Alarm Pro4, but none with Pro3. Zone labs
disputes any issues, but I have heard that Norton and Zone sometimes don't
"Play Well Together" in some cases.

Indeed. ZoneAlarm insisted that I uninstall Mcafee Virusscan before
installing the update. The update cited 'program conflicts' as the
reason. So far I have no problems with the update and the it recognizes
Virusscan as my virus protection.

I use Norton Utes, Norton Antivirus and ZoneAlarm for YONKS no porb at
all ?

WHat kind of problems ?

5 ZA pro doesn't run for me either. XP pro Norton AV. System restored
and i went back to 4.5.

I just updated to the new free version and it seems to be
running just fine. I only installed the free version and it
asked if I had a virus scan program. I answered yes and it
recognized my McAfee.

Or for me. Installer said to uninstall (NOT disable) McAfee as the two
products are not compatible.

I'll stick with 4.5, too.

i have seen the flaky problems everyone is talking about
After i got the newer version on 6/25 I discovered that the default
settings were NOT what I needed - they were too tight. the main one
that broke mine was the "mobile code" I couldnt get java or downloads
to work until I disabled that "feature"
