ZoneAlarm security alerts

I recently installed ZoneAlarm and, of course, get security alerts pop-ups. I
have been able to recognize and either allow or deny all access attempts
except for "Veritas Update Manager". I have googled Veritas and am still
uncertain whether it is a safe program which I should allow. Can someone
please give me their opinion and guidance in this instance. Thanks.

Do you have Veritas installed on your pc?

I believe that belongs to Veritas CD burning software, it should be safe to
allow.

Yes, I have Veritas installed, however, I have no recollection of installing
it so likely it came pre-installed when I bought my PC.

The updater is fine to allow out.
