When I attempt to run with Zone Alarm firewall software,
Zone Alarm continues to crash and machie eventually locks
tight and needs cold booted.I removed spyware until a fix
is found as I won't run without Zone Alarm.

I have been havign the same experiance. I have
ZoneAlarmPro 5.5.062.004 running on XP Home SP2 on a
AlwaysOn broadband connection. I cannot do without the
protection from ZoneAlarm. So I have gone back to
PestPatrol, SpywareBlaster and SpywareGuard.

I was really pleased with MSAS and the About.com
antispyware Guide review of the program is excellent but
compatibility with the major software Firewall is
crucial.

I have the same problem but don't know how to uninstall
the anti-spyware - how did you do it, please?

Thanks.

Yep same problem with same version of ZAPro (Did it with
both my laptop and Desk) - turns off True Vector and then
proceeds to lock up the computer - Unistalled MSAS and
reinstalled ZAPro, system is running fine again both
machines running WinXP SP2

I found the information below elsewhere on this forum and
tried it. It seems to have worked as I no longer have any
problems with MSAS and ZoneAlarm (knock on wood!!!):

Use the method below which fits your OS version. If you
are on XP SP2, use
the second method:

1) (winsock reset for 2k, xp pre sp2, and 2003 pre sp1)

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-
us;817571

2) (Winsock reset for xpsp2)

netsh winsock reset

enter
restart machine.

After resetting Winsock, applications which have added
themselves to the
stack will need to be reinstalled. These may include
third-party VPN
clients, some McAfee privacy or network security related
software, and
others--check what is working and what is not.
