Zone Alarm asking...

When Zone Alarm asks me if I want to allow different programs to access the internet, I usually allow it. Is there a way to have just Internet Explorer always access it?

Right click the ZA icon in the system try, select "restore
zone alarm control center" then the program tab.
You can change any program's permissions on that page.

You can and should deny any permission you don't recognize
or want (such as a program asking for server rights).

You give permissions as an "always" or one-time depending on
whether the checkbox is selected.

Zone Alarm is protecting you from intruders. You DO NOT want Internet
Explorer to bypass ZoneAlarm. Besides, once you click on ok to tell ZA it's
ok that program is put in ZA's ok list.

Right-click the ZA icon in the toolbar, select restore ..., go to Program
Control > Programs and you'll see a long list of programs that are accessing
the internet.

When ZA asks if you want to allow access, it gives you a choice of whether
it always should take the selected action. There is a little box to the left
side of the ZA window check if you want to take the same action. If it is
not checked, you will be prompted again the next time the program requests
access.

If you always say yes, there's really no point in running
ZoneAlarm at all. It's purpose is to prevent access to malicious
software.

Yes, you can have Internet Explorer always access what it tries
to; just don't run ZoneAlarm. But that's *not* a good idea.

Note, ZA has a new update to fix a buffer overrun problem,
you should check for updates NOW!

You just have to look a little harder on the web site. The
free version is at the bottom, so scroll down. When you
download the file update and install it, you will be offered
the Pro version or the basic free version. The Pro version
costs money. The free version is free.
