zipping - any size limit?

hi,

is there any limit how much the windows xp integrated zip-application can
zip when it comes to the size of files?

It seems that Win-XP's zip utility also cannot open compressed files
larger than a certain size (same 2GB?). I had that problem with a 7GB
file, which could, however, be opened quite smoothly with WinZip or
WinRAR.

Looks likes 2Gig in XP.
Have a read of the above MS link about it.

On all things Windows there are 3rd-Party applications that modify or
control things beyond what the OS provides. Disabling Aero and other
features can be done yourself without the app. Battery life cycles have
all kinds of factors ( what you do & how long ). Sometimes it's best to
just buy an extended life battery and not spend money on "Handling &
Control" apps.

Just do a web search for "High Capacity notebook battery". The rating
you're interested in is mAh.

Dear readers

Certain writers like

http://it-tutor.co.cc/run-laptop-for-one-month-on-a-single-charge/
and
http://www.codeplex.com/vistabattery

are advising people on how to extend batter life of your laptop about
one hour. Is it possible to extend battery life of laptop as per they
are advising.

A reasoned and excellent answer (as always) but to a spammer. This guy -
either calling himself "haun" or "haunt" - has been spamming the newsgroups
for months. I've been reporting him. So don't waste your time on him.

Cheers,

You're wrong. I also report all spams I come across. The more spams get
reported, the sooner the spammer will lose his connectivity. It's a
good idea to mention now and than because it encourages others to learn
how and to do it too. JHD isn't a way to handle spams; it punishes no
one but the JHD'er by an ever increasing amount of spam to his inboxes.
Only a spammer has anything to fear from such comments.

You also need to learn how to post in Plain Text. Don't be so lazy.

typical idiocy.

as you say yourself it is a waste of time to report it.

remember silence is golden.
report but there is no need to tell us to get brownie points.
