How do I zip file? I have photo files I want to email to be printed. I do
not want to make the file smaller. I want to zip the original file so that
it can be printed with good quality. I have done this before but forget how
I did it. I will be sending it via Internet Explorer. Thanks for your help.

You are making the file size smaller - but not the image resolution - that
seems to be what you are saying.

Right-click on the file and choose "Send To" --> "Compressed (zipped)
Folder".

sometimes, zipped photos
can still be too large to send
via email.

it depends on the service
you have with your isp and
whether the recipient also
has a cap to the size of
attachments.

perhaps, I better alternative
is to upload and store the
photos as is to a free service
like microsoft's skydrive.

they provide 25 gigs of free
space.

then you can simply send a
link and an invitation to the
photos.

I'm thinking that zipping this file is unnecessary...
if you are sending the file by right clicking and
choosing....Send To / Mail Recipient....when you
see the Resize dialog just choose 'Keep the
original sizes'.

If you simply attach the file to an open e-mail
message...the resize dialog will not be an issue.

If you have a batch of files to send and file size
is an issue...the following site may be useful:

(in this case...zipping might be useful just to
combine the photos into a single file)

Try uploading the files to the following
site and send your recipients the link
for downloading them.

"YouSendIt"
http://www.yousendit.com/

All you have to do is enter an e-mail
address in the "To:" (Recipient) field
and click the "Browse" button to select
the file you wish to upload. Then click
the "Send It" button.

The next screen that appears will give
you the download link. Just copy/paste
it into the message to your recipients
who can download and view the file on
their computer.
