Zero's after value

I want to be able to type in a value e.g. 10 and excel automatically
adds zeros to the end of the value to make it 10000, so when i type in
20 it automatically changes it to 20000

Do tools>options>edit and select fixed decimal places, put it to -3.
Don't forget to uncheck it after you are done. If you need to enter smaller
numbers,
just put a period after the number and it won't change so if you want to
type 100,
enter it as 100. otherwise it will be 100000

Thank you

Is there a custom format I can create to apply trailing zeros just to
certain cells?

You could format a cell as #"000" but the trailing zeros would only be there as
a display. The value contained in the cell would be whatever you actually
typed in.

So if you typed in 2.55, the cell would display 3000 and would contain 2.55
