Zero Length Messages

My email server (mail.comcast.net) returns the following error message when
I try to retrieve email from one of server account:

Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for
this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of
inactivity. Account: 'Dave's Mail', Server: 'mail.comcast.net', Protocol:
POP3, Server Response: '+OK', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number:
0x800CCC0F

Each time I attempt to retrieve email I get the same number of messages, all
duplicates of earlier messages, and then the system stops with the message.

I can't figure out how to directly get into the mail account -- I remember
how to do it with PINE back in the old UNIX days at work.

I have Outlook set to not leave messages on the server when downloaded.

TIA

Dave

Can you access the mail on the web client for Comcast? Is there any message
there that might be corrupt?
