ZACHD [MSFT] -- RE: HD DVD

Thank you very much for the lead on the LG GGC-H20LI HD DVD/Blu Ray drive. I
had no idea such a drive existed.

It is available and in stock at J & R Music World (walking distance) for $225.00
($399.00 list).

However, I checked the LG site and the GGW-H20LI includes Blu Ray writing
capabilities at about $100.00 more list. It doesn't seem to be available
anywhere yet, but this is definitely the one I want.

Thanks again.

getting such a drive now is not very smart.. first of all its expensive but
say we don't care about that factor...

the models that are out now are still slow .... the later models will be
able to write in far faster speeds..

I would wait unless I had to get it for an important reason...

Yeah, I can definitely agree that the longer you wait the more stylish,
faster, and awesome the drives will be. It just worked well for my current
needs, and I needed a way to play my DVD-9s and HD-DVDs both on the TV
(downstairs) and the PC (upstairs). I simply like working at home to
movies, and I'm buying hi-def movies these days. =)

I full expect that in two years, I will want to replace the drive. PC HD
drives are still bleeding edge in my eyes. =\
