So you didn't ask what you needed to do this "course" before you started?
Prior Preparation and Planning Prevents Piss-Poor Performance! (As we say in
the British Army)

You can download a 60 day trial version of Office 2003 here:

Well, in Miguel's defense, there isn't always a way to find out. I can attest
to that fact. At least twice during my college career, a teacher sprung an
expense on us we were not aware we were going to have. There wasn't really
any way we could have known, and who would really think to ask something like
that anyway?

One time was even in my first semester! It was the first class in my major,
and we were required to buy a palm pilot. One cool thing, though, the school
paid half and we only had to pay the other half. That was $100, though, and
the palm pilots they gave us were about the lowest level ones you could get.

A few semesters later, now another professor requires us to buy Pocket PCs.
Again, the school was able to pitch in about half. Again, this cost us $100.
My old Palm broke during the break before that semester, so I bought a better
one. Quite frankly, I liked that A LOT better than the Pocket PC. For one
thing, (one major thing to me) I use my Palm as my alarm clock to wake me up
in the morning. Problem is, the Pocket PC constantly resets its own time. All
of a sudden, I'll turn it on to see the time is off by hours even though I
just recently corrected it. Doesn't exactly impress me. Can you imagine
waking up, looking at the time on your Pocket PC and saying "Wow! I still
have a few hours to sleep. Wait, that kinda doesn't seem possible. Hmmm...
let me roll over and grab my watch. OH MY GOD! I'M THREE HOURS LATE!!!"

Wait, what was the point of my rant? LOL! Oh yeah. You don't always
definitely know of other little surprises of things that your teachers are
going to require. MS Office is kinda standard, though. No surprise that it is
likely to be needed.
