Your Microsoft Exchange Server is Unavailable

First of all, I would just like to thank everyone on this
newsgroup, even if you don't offer your help to me. The
problem that I am having is that whenever I open
Microsoft Outlook I get the error described in the
subject line "Your Microsoft Exchange Server is
Unavailable." I know that this sounds like a problem
that has nothing to do with Outlook, but when I never get
the problem other than when I open Outlook. I have
Microsoft Office 2003, Windows XP Professional, and a
Compaq Evo N400c. I originally tried to set up my
Outlook account a whlile ago, and I think that that is
when I messed it up, but obviously I can't remember what
I did. Thank-you again in advance!

Are you trying to connect to your e-mail program at the
Office? Exchange Server is what a lot of businesses use
to host e-mail for their employees... If I were you, I
would contact my Internet Service Provider and request
help on how to fix the problem.

Best of luck

No, I am not trying to connect to my program at work, it
is at home. I think that I might have accidentally set
it up to look for the Microsoft Exchange Server. I
looked on my computer and couldn't find anything.

Hi,

Since you said you're using the program at home, I'm
assuming you have a pop3 e-mail account that you're
trying to connect to. Since you're account is already
set as microsoft exchange server, probably your way
around it is to setup a new account with the correct
service. To do that, open your outlook, go to Tools->E-
mail Accounts, then click on the radio button for "Add a
new e-mail account", then click on "Next" button. Then
you'll come up to the screen where you select the server
type to use, select pop3, that's what most people use
when they setup e-mail accounts at home. Try that out,
see if it works.
