You do not have access to logon to this session

I am getting the above message everytime I try to connect to my Windows 2003
Server machine. I've installed the terminal server cals, given the full
privileges to the user in the RDP-TCP connections in the Terminal Server
Configuration screen. I've added the user to the local Remote Desktop Group,
but I still get this message. I am connecting using a Remote Desktop client
on Windows 2000. On the Windows 2003 machine, I can connect to another
Windows 2003 server using the Remote Desktops application. Any ideas on
what's going wrong on my end?

Thanks,

Ajay

Go to the users account in Active Directory and there should be a check box
to allow the user to log in to the TS server. This must be checked and I
also heard that if the domain controller is Win2003 then TS licensing needs
to be running from that server and the user needs "log on locally"
permission on the domain controller. I could be wrong though.

Mike,

wouldn't it be wiser to check the facts first and post later, instead
of the other way around?

* Windows 2003 Terminal Server Licensing Servers do *not* need to run
on a Domain Controller anymore.
* Windows 2003 Terminal Services does *not* require that users have
the "Log On Locally" user right anymore.

Better to brainstorm then be braindead ;o)

Vera,
Thanks for your help. Connecting with the XP RD works well. If you
use the W2000 RD, it won't work. I wonder why this is?

I've no idea, that shouldn't make a difference.
But then, the rdp client that comes with W2000 is really old by now
and doesn't support redirection of network printers, so using a later
version is a good idea anyway.
