Yet another routing problem

M

Mogens Olesen

I have configured a Windows 2003 server with RAS/VPN.
I can connect to the server with the vpn client on a
windows xp machine and connect to the server with remote
desktop through the vpn tunnel.
I can ping any other machine on the remote network, but
I'm not able to use remote desktop to connect to other
servers (that I can ping), nor can I attach to shares on
other servers.

Any suggestions ?

Well I couldn't, so I set up WINS/DNS on the VPN
connection, which enabled me to ping the machinenames.
But it really didn't change the originally problem.
Still can't do nothing but ping other machines and acces
VPN server by remote desktop.

After you make the Remote Desktop connection to the server, have you tried
making a, RD connection to another machine on the LAN from this RD session?

Mogens Olesen

Yes I have and I am able to connect to make any kind of
connection to other machines on the remote LAN.

Well I finally got it solved.
On the server I had netwok load balancing installed, but
didn't really use it (two NIC's installed, but one
diabled).
After I removed it, things started working.
