Yahoo NBA Game Channel faults

I applied the urgent/critical security updates to my XP system this
weekend, and today for the first time I cannot load and run the Yahoo
NBA Game Channel java applet without getting a fault, null pointer
exception not handled. The applet them completes loading but does not
run.

Coincidence?

Apparently. Today it's working fine.
