XY Scatter Chart in Excel 2007 - Cant Reverse Values

Marilyn

Hello,

I have a user in my group with an XY Scatter chart created in Excel 2007.
When selecting the Category Axis and applying the "Values in Reverse Order"
option, the Value Axis on the Left jumps to the right, however, the Value
Axis on the right stays on the right instead of moving to the left.

I tested this in Excel 2003 with no problems, is there something in Excel
2007 that would prevent this?

Any Help Suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

The two versions of Excel are more like cousins than like siblings. Instead
of a few minor differences, there are more differences, and they sometimes
are more striking.

By rights, the secondary axis shouldn't move in 2003, either, since you've
made no explicit changes to the secondary category axis (can't even see it).
At times when Excel tries to figure out how to do what the user expects,
I've found that 2003 does more things as one would expect; 2003 is a bit
more flexible and a bit more intuitive in its behaviors.

When things like this happen you will have to take extra measures to
explicitly make changes. First you need to add the secondary category axis,
then format it to position the secondary value axis, then remove the
secondary category axis.

Hi Jon,

Thank you for the suggestion. We tried what you suggested and added a
Secondary Category Axis, however, when we choose to Reverse the values Excel
still shows everything on one side of the chart. Any ideas what we could
have done wrong?

Thanks

Hi Jon,

Thank you for your suggestion. We added the Secondary Axis by selecting the
Chart and choosing the "Show Default Axis" from the Secondary Horizontal Axis
option in the Axes button, however, once we choose to show the Primary
Horizontal Axis in Reverse order Excel still shifts everything to the right.

Any idea where we went wrong?

Thanks,

sorry for the double reply, but I was having issues when submitting my reply
and I guess it added it twice.
