xpuser1 - Automatic Updates

Hi, #1
Since our earlier posts are now on page 10 and it takes a while to get there.... On my system, Automatic Update only works for "Critical Updates and Service Packs" from Microsoft. It does not download the "Other" items which may show up as useable by your computer when you run Windows Update. Even tho' those are also from Microsoft. I have found that my daily visit to Windows Update and the download of "Criticals" at that time, usually gets them in my system a day or 2 earlier than if I wait for "Automatic" to do it. I check both the Windows Update and Office Update sites. Hope this helps

Hi. bobnrobi
Thank you for those valuable help and information. About earlier posts - I could not find our earlier posts on page 10, maybe have now moved to other new page, however I could find our earlier posts when I did search but which will not show page number
How you find the page number that contains, say, any of your favourite you posted earlier ? Thank

Thank you Kelly for always being so kind and helpful to me.
So far I could go to the links you have given me except one i.e. "http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/using/newsgroups/setup.asp" which simply showed
"The page cannot be found
The page you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable."
Hope I'd find it next time if it's not been removed or had its name changed. Thanks again for all the help

You're welcome
Your smile too I must say, thank you :)
Need not reply to this, already taken too much of your time inspite of the fact you're spending time helping others also as I've seen.
However, I'm thankful, if you feel the need to say something else otherwise you can leave it here and I will understand
