I caught this via Yahoo and it prevented my PC from restarting, eventually
found it when doing a scan with AVG, Norton AV didn't find it!
Removed it from C:/windows folder but now can't find anthing about it on the
web, have tried AVG and Sophos sites but "xpupdater" finds nothing!
Anyone any ideas?
TIA

Hmm... seems like my PC has caught something similar.
The first time i noticed it was when i detected an unusually high
background internet activity.

It is preventing norton auto-protect and manual scans from being
launched.
After booting into safe-mode was finally able to do a scan but nothing
turned up.
Another interesting thing... my taskmanager exe has also been messed
with. it immediately closes after launch. Dammit why does windows have
a kill command !!
Also noticed a "C:\WINDOWS\ActiveXExe" folder with suspicious exe files
in it being created even after deletion.

i am downloading the free avg version rite now. hope it can fix this.
:(
