I have windows version 5.1 [build2600.xpsp2.030422-
1633:service pack 1] I am getting sp2 hotfixes -ie:

Windows xp Hotfix (SP2) Q329441
Is that ok?I thought I had xp 1 - just a beginner here so
please treat me likewise-thanks all.

Common wording....however, for that particular issue:

Dial-Up Modem or PPPoE is Unavailable (Line 87)

To use the Regedit: Save the REG File to your hard disk. Double click it
and answer yes to the import prompt. REG files can be viewed in Notepad by
right clicking on the file and selecting Edit.

Since Service Pack 1 came out - nearly 18 months ago - new fixes have
been described as 'sp2' ones, being seen as candidates to go into
Service Pack 2 - which in its full form is currently in test
