XPSP2 VPN Problems

I'm trying to set up a vpn between my office network and my home computer
with both computers running XP SP2. I have set up the office computer to
accept the connection, and forwarded ports 1723 and 47 through the router to
the appropriate ip address. I don't think port 47 is necessary, but one post
I read said it was so I did it just in case. The client says it connects,
and the server says there is a remote connection, but the client cannot seem
to browse or access any network shares on the server machine, or anywhere on
the office network.
Any help, or link to a good tutorial which could help me through this would
be greatly appreciated.

Your problem sounds IDENTICAL to mine, with the following execeptions: I
have tried to establish the vpn either using a PPTP connection, or an IPSEC
tunnel using a Cisco VPN Client 4.02A software. I Believe the vpn servers at
work are still Win 2k Servers; I seriously doubt they have upgraded to Win
2003 Servers yet. Work is about halfway finished migrating to Active
Directory, but is still using two win2k DNS servers and two win 2k WINS
servers. I am verified on the vpn servers and their domain and registered on
the DNS servers. I can ping both the DNS and WINs servers, and can ping by
FQDN or IP address, but not by the NetBIOS short name whicch should be
registered and resolved by WINS. I cannot map any network resourses using
either \\NetBIOSserver\shareame or \\TCPIP\sharename.
Ihave set the IPSEC VPN connection to the TRUSTEDZONE in Zonealarm Pro, and
opened pretty eary everyting in that zone. My work's tech support guy's
suggestion was to remove Zonealarm, even tho it is required on laptops using
a dialin connection!

Sorry for the logwinded email, but wanted to provide as much detail as
possible. I sure would appreciate an email if you find a solution to this
maddening problem.
