XPSP2 Updates

I installed updates dated Aug 8. Restarted sys and have
"a black screen with Isass.exe Bad Image \system32 DNSAPI.dll is not a
valid windows image. Please check against installation diskette."
How preformed a recovery and and back to this point again.
