XPSP2 slipstreaming

I have a Dell 8200 p4 2.53GHz 512RAM. Running XPSP2 Home
and I have tried to slipstream the original XP and SP2
disks but keep getting the error "The service pack cannot
be integrated into a destination that also has integrated
Software Updates. Consult service pack documentation for
more details about supported integration scenarios." I
look on the SP2 disk but could not find anything that
relates. Does anyone have any idea as to how to handle
this problem.

thanks for any and all suggestions, as I have been
pounding at this for two weeks or more

Hi

If you have the SP2 CD, copy the xpsp2.exe file to your hard disk/partiton,
then use that to create the slipstreamed CD.

This is caused by the fact that your Windows XP CD contains updates
that will be automatically installed when you run setup.
This type of CD's will usually be from larger OEM suppliers (like
Dell, HP, or others).

You cannot use this type of CD to create a slipstreamed SP2 install.

the above info I got from
