XPSP2 Network Connections Service Failing

Allan

Last night I downloaded the SP2 net install version for
admins etc and hoped for the best. Booted back up and
didnt get get a BSOD which was a start, logged in fine,
got an ip addy fine, everything looked fine :)

But then I discovered that there were some services that
were not starting such as Network Connections, COM+ and
there are some things getting WMI errors. I have hunted
around on the web and the MS site and can't find much of
anything at all in regards to this.

Can anyone possibly shed some light on the situation?

Thanks

Allan,

what happens when you try to restart them? Do you actually need
them?

SP2 disables at least one service, the Messenger service.
Perhaps it disables a few more that few people actually need.
I'm not yet current on this question.

Please have a look at http://www.michna.com/kb/WxSP2.htm. I
would particularly appreciate if you let me know whatever you
find, for the benefit of others who may have the same question.
