Hello Everyone! This is my very first time posting here so please correct me
if anything... So the issue I'm having is that my Dell XPS 700 powered by
Intel QX6700 running XP64 bit version does not boot up with 8GB of ram,
however it boots fine with only 4GB (two sticks) all of the dimms are exactly
the same - 2GB each... What happens is that in bios I can see all 8GBs but
when I exit and try to boot it flashes a blue screen for a quarter of a
second and then restarts with beeping code which is hard to make out... Has
anyone ever had a similar issue?
Is there something that I'm missing? Any information is greatly appreciated
and I thank you All in advance!

Have you checked with Dell Tech support if your system will
support 8GB of RAM? You may be limited to 4GB.

My name is Brad and I work at Dell headquarters in Round Rock, TX. Remmy it
sounds like the memory might be having a problem, or the slots on the board
might be bad. If possible try running a memory test with the 8 GB of ram in
system and see if it passes. Another option is alternating the memory out
between the slots to see what happens. Normally beep codes will be pointing
to a memory problem. Can you describe the series beeps? For example it might
have a series of short/long beeps. One other question is all the memory from
the same manufacturer? Please let me know if you have any questions.
