XPH upgrade to XPP (undo?)

Hi

A friend of mine has upgraded his Windows XP Home machine with a Windows
XP Pro disc thinking it was ok to put XP Pro on this mahine. The XP Pro
disk he used is from another PC they have at home, and cannot use the
same License key twice.

He had upgraded his XP Home machine and has been running it for over 60
days and the activation now will not let him into the system.

Can I safely remove the Windows XP Pro upgrade from the system? Leaving
his XP Home install as was?

Assuming he upgraded you would need to clean install winxpH, all data on the
C (win drive) will be lost
