xpe image and safe mode

It seems that things in my thin client world don't get any better.

having had a long (unsuccessful) fight with dial up networking on the
itona xpe thinclients, i decided give it a bash in safe mode. yes, i
know it was belated, but safe mode with networking isn't really the
best platform to resolve networking issues in my experience.

starting the thinclient up, i booted to safe mode and BLAM! blue
screen. stop error 0x0000007b. well, i figured i have been messing
around with this one for a bit, so there is likely inherent corruption.
i opened up a brand new, still sealed unopened unused client.

gave it a boot to confirm that it's working normally, and rebooted to
safe mode. blue screen on boot, error 7b.

what component of windows is missing to make this the case? does anyone
have any idea?

help would be hugely appreciated!

hi, you need to add Software : System : System Services : Base; Safe Mode
Support in your xpe image, check dependancy and rebuild your image to enable
support for safe mode.

it is a sp2 based image, surprisingly. i am not sure what was stripped
out to make it so shit...er .. small i mean. i am beginning to hate it
though, but maybe this will be the stroke of luck i need.

Cheers!
