Hello
My conpagny bought the Windows Xp Embedded Cds yellow BOX (With Windows
embedded Studio and inludng Service Pack 2) containing 8 Cds and the
installation product key
The trouble is that the XPe build with it says at the right bottom of the
Windows Desktop Screen : "Windows XP Embedded Evaluation Copy ..." That
means what please ?
Thanks in advance

To add to that... when you build with the Toolkits, in order to license it
for runtime, you need to purchase runtime licenses from your embedded
distributor. when you buy the licenses, they come in the form of a COA
(Certificate of Authenticity) in an envelope with a card in it. the card
contains a Product Identification (PID) which is a series of numbers, that
you plug into Target designer. once those numbers are plugged in, you can
build the image, and it will not display that, nor will it time out.

ok, thanks
i look on microsoft site and i see the price of 90$ for each device mi
conpgny will produce woth XPe on it...expensive but that is not a problem
in the trget designer i will put a PID nd so pressing F7 to produce XPe
image nd so copying this XPe image on my device...when i first boot my
device the FBA agent will goes on...my question is : can i use the same
produce XPe image on several device ? cause after the FBA agent works, we
need to modify and add some things to XPe, and so we think to build 1 image,
start it on the hardware device, modify it according to our wish, and after
all, duplicate this imge (with a rawcopy or somethin else) and use this copy
on each device...will that works ?
in other word : did i to change the PID in the platformbuilder for each
device using XPe ?
Thanks in davance

Hi Benoit,

Yes, you can use the same image on multiple devices... you would use the
System Cloning Tool Component.

No, You do not have to put a unique PID for each device... each device
requires a COA (certificate of Authenticity) however Microsoft no longer
puts PID's on each COA sticker.

Make sure that you change the Reseal Phase to 0 if you like to make any
changes or install any applications before cloning.

Add System Cloning component and go advanced page to change the Reseal
phase.

Once you have done with any changes, run fbreseal command to run the
Reseal.

You will get a prompt to reboot once the reseal process is done, that
click OK to reboot and switch off the machine and make a copy of that
image.

Kind Regards,

Mags
