I bought a copy of XP Pro and have not installed on a system yet. I just
finished building a system with a 64Bit Intel processor. Does Microsoft have
a downloadable XP 64 Pro version that would allow me to use the same CD key
that I already have, or do I have to buy a new copy of the product with 64
bit capabilities?

--thx, Joseph

You have to purchase a new copy.

Example:

Microsoft Windows XP Professional X64 Edition 1 package - OEM

Joseph;
You need to buy the 64 bit version.
Is Pro retail or OEM.

If OEM, it may be nearly impossible to return.

If retail and purchased less than 30 days ago, return to seller.
If the seller does not accept returns and you live in North America, return
directly to Microsoft:

One of the Microsoft sites had a downloadable trial version (15 days). I
downloaded it and I'm testing it with the system.
