I upgraded from 98 to XP and my McAfee virus scan didn't
work. So I went out and bought McAfee new virus scan but
it won't load up because I need to remove the old virus
first it said. I can't uninstall the old one. It says a
fatal error has occured. Need help please. Thanks

you should contact http://www.McAfee.com and check with there tech support.
They have different ways to remove there different version of virus scan.
