Now apparantly if you have a dual core processor xp x64 with pick it up as 2
processors as according to one of the blogs on microsoft:

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/64bit/russel_x64faq.mspx

Q. Will Windows XP Professional X64 Edition support dual core processors?

A. Yes. If you have a processor that is dual core, Windows XP Professional
x64 Edition will recognize it as two separate processors and give you the
benefit of both cores.

but i've only really been looking into this, device manager only sees one
processors and task manager only recognises 1 processor. help needed

I'll tell you now REBUILD is not an option.

any help please, kind regards

owen

PS. I am useing:

an Intel Pentium D 830 3.0GHZ,
an Asus P5ND2 Sli Deluxe,
1024 megabytes of RAM,

(if that helps)

Please post this in the X64 group,

microsoft.public.windows.64bit.general

There are more people there than are familiar with X64 than here.

You might also search that newsgroup on Google Groups, I seem to recall
a similar discussion there recently.
