Toshiba laptop, running XP Home Ed. with a DVD player/CD burner combo
(NOT a DVD burner!).

She attempted to install some burning software . . . . "Backpack" from
Micro-Solutions. Maybe it was EZCD from Roxio . . . not sure. It was
quickly un-installed BUT . . .

Everytime her machine boots, the following balloon appears near the
tray . . .

Devices or applications disabled.
"CD Recording Software" will cause Windows to become unstable.
Windows has prevented these drivers from loading.

How can XP be stopped from trying to load thesze drivers? If the
registry must be edited, where in it would such a command be located?
I don't know what to look for.

PS: It is too late for restore to help. The machine has been like this
for several months!
